M-LINC (Clinic for Nonprofits)
The Marquette Legal Initiative for Nonprofit Corporations (M-LINC) provides free brief legal advice for Wisconsin nonprofits and organizations seeking tax exempt or nonprofit status. M-LINC assists nonprofits at a weekly clinic held at Marquette Law School. The clinic is run on Wednesday afternoons on an appointment only basis.
UW Law School’s Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic – The University of Wisconsin Law School’s Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic (L & E Clinic) provides free legal services to help entrepreneurs realize their potential. The L & E Clinic can help new nonprofits with fiscal sponsorship arrangements, state and federal filings, drafting bylaws and contracts, and early-stage governance issues.
Lawyer Referral & Information Service of the State Bar of Wisconsin - offers free referrals to Wisconsin lawyers for nonprofits who have the ability to hire an attorney to address their legal issues. Attorneys referred through this service agree to charge no more than $20 for the first consultation, up to 30 minutes.
