how long have you served on the wfhs board?I was elected to the Board of Directors in February of 2019.
What kind of pets do you have?I have two cats and a dog, all adopted from HSMC. Mr. White is a 5-year-old Siamese mix, Lonnie is a 10-year-old DLH and Diggs is a 9-year-old Chihuahua/Poodle mix. I never thought I’d be the girl with a little fluffy dog, but man is he great!

What inspired you to serve on the WFHS Board?I’m passionate about animal welfare and learning from my peers. I thought this would be a great opportunity to help not only the animals in our state but my colleagues as well.
What are your hobbies?I enjoy spending time with family, exploring the state with my husband, playing volleyball and photography.

What changes would you like to see happen in Wisconsin in regards to animal welfare?Improved legislation and enforcement of animal welfare laws, increased partnerships with humane societies across the state (community over competition) and additional, affordable training opportunities for animal welfare groups right here in our state.
What is a fun fact about you?I like to share about how I got my start at HSMC. I had become familiar with the shelter through mandated community service hours as the result of an underage drinking citation and applied for an open animal caretaker position at the end of my required hours. 12 years later and I’m the Executive Director! Things happen for a reason and shelters are full of second chances.
