On CVI:
- Foster to Adopt contracts can be used until the dog can be seen by a vet and the CVI is completed—at which time the adoption can be completed.
- Make sure to keep good records.
- The state cannot change the time limits on CVIs because they are based on Federal mandates. Given the COVID 19 crisis, this will probably not be addressed on the Federal level at this time.
- We can expect inspectors to be “understanding” if documents are slightly outdated but make sure you keep good records and that you are doing everything possible to provide up-to-date CVIs with your adoptions.
- If you are releasing animals with S/N contracts, make sure you have the adopter ask that a CVI be provided with that vet visit (if the CVI is not yet done). Work that out with the adopter and vet.
