jessica FarleyWHERE DO YOU LIVE?Wauwatosa, Wisconsin

HOW LONG HAVE YOU SERVED ON THE WFHS BOARD?I have served on the board for about three years
WHAT KIND OF PETS DO YOU HAVE?I have one rescue cat, named Ivy.
|
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO SERVE ON THE WFHS BOARD? Animal welfare is a cause that I feel passionately about. I hoped that by serving on the board, I would have the opportunity to bring about positive change and promote the better treatment of animals in our society as a whole. Animals, especially companion animals, are a part of one’s family and contribute so much to our lives.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? I enjoy golfing, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

WHAT CHANGES WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE HAPPEN IN WISCONSIN IN REGARDS TO ANIMAL WELFARE?I would like to see increased prosecution of animal crimes, and increased penalties for the same. Currently, many jurisdictions do not prosecute violations of existing animal cruelty laws, and many crimes related to animal mistreatment are not considered felonies or punished commensurate to the severity of the offense. Our laws have not kept pace with how society views offenses against animals and pets, in particular.
WHAT IS A FUN FACT ABOUT YOU?I enjoy singing and used to be a member of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
